Christine Gilbert's review of Ofsted's response to the death of Ruth Perry had a ludicrously narrow scope, ignoring the events that led to Ruth's death, but she has proven her ability to provide challenge to the inspectorate which I hope she continues. schoolsweek.co.uk/christine-gi....

In January, on the anniversary of Ruth Perry’s death, Julia (Ruth’s sister) and I met with the heads of all teaching unions. It’s both distressing and reassuring that EVERY union has raised concerns about the proposed inspection framework changes since Monday…

Recently I called Sir Martyn Oliver, the chief inspector of Ofsted, a liar on 'X'. Despite this, Ofsted very kindly walked me through their proposals for the new inspection system. I am sorry to say that my feelings are probably even more entrenched than they were before…

The lies of Sir Martyn Oliver, a thread in many parts, presented on the day after the second anniversary of the death of Ruth Perry I will use verifiable sources to show how, during yesterday’s accountability hearing, Sir Martyn lied in nearly every way imaginable..

Two years to the day from the death of Ruth Perry, I've written a piece for School's Week.

Two years on, the fight for Ruth's legacy is far from over
There has not been enough progress to give us confidence that what happened to Ruth Perry won't happen again

Whamageddoned by my own daughter on the THIRD OF DECEMBER! Her echo dot had some schtick about Christmas and Child No.4 said "Alexa, what did you do last Christmas?"

"Last Christmas by Wham from Edmund's Spotify."

"Alexa, STOP!"

BUT IT WAS TOO LATE! OH THE HUMANITY!

I've lived 500 yards from Caversham Primary School for almost exactly 22 years, I've had children at the school for 14 years. This is the last weekend we'll be in Caversham, what better way to spend it than reading 'The Night Before Christmas' to children at the annual Christmas fair.

I am very proud to have made a contribution to this book which has an amazing and wonderful array of educators and thinkers assessing what is wrong with the school accountability system and how to fix it.

I've discovered a lot of things wrong with this country over the past year, ten months, and twelve days since my daughter's head teacher, Ruth Perry, took her own life. I’ve spent much of that time in Whitehall, and I’ve developed a pretty cynical view of the way we are governed…

I am still new to BlueSky and I think it’s wrong to assume that anyone will know me here so, to ‘set out my stall’ I am going to reproduce a series of threads I first posted at ‘the other place’, it sums up my feelings about a lot of things and perhaps will help to throw some light on who I ‘am’…

I’ve been quiet on the subject of Ofsted recently, waiting for details to surface before commenting. So, we can see from TES and The Guardian that details have emerged about the ‘scorecard’ system set to replace the current inspection framework next September….

This is Alfred James Ward, my grandfather. He lied about his age to join the Middlesex Machine Gun Corps at the start of World War I. When two of his brothers were killed in action he was not given permission to leave the front line to attend their funerals...

Schools Week has kindly allowed me to respond to Amanda Spielman's Q&A from last Friday. I am less than complementary...

Spielman has nothing to teach if she has nothing to learn
The former chief inspector's refusal to accept established facts is an affront to Ruth's memory
