Mostly lurking but enjoy the sudden bursts of sport, SFF, board games or far more likely reposted content. (he/him)
And we get to one of the major sections of the book as we head South and through Moria.

There's a good blog post on the same topic, though focused on RPGs, from Jay Dragon.

It's why my favourite co-ops are those where the game is trying to cooperate despite the rules getting in the way rather than let's all solve a puzzle together. That's, for me, the interesting bit so make it tough.
Rules Are A Cage (and I’m a Puppygirl)
Tabletop RPG rulebooks only serve to restrict and constrain us. So why is that a good thing?

I was, largely arbitrarily, always team Van der Poel of that particular rivalry but he's less useful for the discussion at hand.

I do find fascinating the people who seem adamant that memory, rather than just not being fun for them which fair enough, is a completely illegitimate skill to test in games.

I'm sure I subconsciously have some similar skills I shun but I hope I'm less confident I'm objectively right about them.

How about instead of sending Liz to SE Asian conventions there's an Octothorpe trip to a Cyclocross race to properly appreciate Belgian culture.

Bonus points if any of the culture appreciated is the sport rather than the beer.

Yes, I went to a talk from her when Sea of Tranquility came out and she explicitly mentioned if anyone wanted to dive into her backlist The Singer's Gun would be the one to do before this one.

Though I imagine like previous books it'll absolutely stand on its own if you haven't.
