Would be nice if "saving the republic from the existential crisis of an increasingly unhinged authoritarian who shows every sign of suspending the Constitution & outlawing democracy" could be enough of a counter message without having to also offer counter justification to personal bottom lines.

Also: The same people who, after the election, when I was less than cheery about the outcome, assured me that the economy would be SKYROCKETING and I should be happy he won because my life and bottom line was about to become AWESOME!

In my experience: anyone who declares himself an “Alpha Male” is most assuredly anything but.
But by the current definition of the word, I also run from any association.
I’d much prefer to be an Omega Man, than whatever toxic masculinity is passing for the MAGA standard to be aspired to.

As such, his legacy will be subject to scrutiny.
But I feel for those who loved and miss him now.
By all accounts he was a personable soul who loved getting a crowd around a table to have a collective great time.
And that is nothing but admirable.
