I would recommend the book as a piece of weird non-fiction and, depending on your opinion of experiencers, outsider art, but the movie is maybe less enjoyable if you aren't as deep into the world of UFOs, alien abduction, high strangeness, etc. If you watch any Whit adaptation make it THE HUNGER.

I remember seeing somebody say Michaels loved tying himself up in the ropes and when I watch his matches it is all I see. Like his glee to get to that spot lol
