Just saying, that Asterix book was published in 1977, and fifty odd years later it still applies: when they can't sell a product for any other reason they'll go with "make people jealous"
(In this case, the gamble is "jealous you dropped $230 on a sock")

For some people, "great minds think alike" is not only news, it's also an impossibility.

See, it's *different* when the trans people you're trying to persecute are your own blood relation who you desperately resent, rather than a minority population of blameless strangers who you've never met.

However, we do also known that Groucho Marx is the link between T.S. Eliot and Alice Cooper - despite Eliot's antisemitism, he and Groucho were pen-pals, and in the 70s Groucho told Cooper he was the last hope for Vaudeville.

Thanks to diary entries, we do have proof that Noel Coward saw a live performance by the Beatles! (See also: Craig Brown's "One On One", aka "Hello Goodbye Hello".)

Fat phobia is prejudice: unethical, not philosophically sound, born of an ugly past that is actually rooted in oppression, and also, it’s just deeply uncool. It’s IN NO WAY an effective weapon against fascism. In fact, it’s got roots in elitist, classist, racist and fascist ideology
