Now, if CVC want to do something there's a chance... As SA have tried both hemisphere's competitions now though, unless they could be convinced to go it alone, I really don't see an alternative to current situation that would fly

Would be quite an ask for the parents of the under 10s to head over the border to fulfill a fixture of a Sunday morning! At the older level you'd then potentially have players needing to be registered with two unions, depending on team they are playing for 🤯

I suspect the Northern split 130 years ago didn't have to get into replacing the union's insurance and legal support, etc....! I'd suspect rebellion would lead to club being persona non grata, with other RFU clubs not allowed to play them at any level.

This weekend isn't in the window either, so Scotland only have their home based players available. I've two questions: Why are they allowed to have international games outside of window? Do these games count for ranking points?

Without diverting chat I'd argue Cockers did a lot for us. He showed, almost immediately, that we could be better and genuinely compete against anyone. He also gave us an identity on the pitch. Everyone knew what they were going to get against us.
