Run, cycle, lift a little. Blue dot in a rural red county in a blue state. Caregiver to adult son. Married, retired, working down the todo list so I can retire.
I once hit one with my motorcycle while playing around on a freeway. It bounced up and hit a valve on the semi behind me, which started spewing steam (or something). The driver pulled over, and so did I to apologize… I’ll never understand why he wasn’t mad at me. 🤷‍♂️

As in, “That’s not running, that’s falling - with style!” :)

A little louder please, Eric; I can’t quite hear you over that ringing in my ears.

My list would include the coffee itself :), and darkness.

Our traffic calming infrastructure here consists of potholes and disintegrating asphalt. Drivers counter that by driving in ever larger trucks. :/

What’s the flattest route from home to work? What’s the safest route from home to work? What’s the prettiest route from work to home?

Hopefully they’re the GravelKing SK Plus, ‘cause I got a flat on my first ride on SKs in the city.

On all the billboards we see for our local casinos, the people always look GREAT.

Thanks (I think) - more tests I need to run :). But it reminded me I should look into vests, and carry an extra electrolyte packet for when I refill my bottle.

Saved for later… our in-house DJ (SJ?) is on a Duhks binge right now.

Lots of tire clearance, 50+mm. A low low gear, < 20 gear inches. A nice wide ratio. Steel is real, but since you have to pedal it up steeps (or at least I do, in this neck of the woods), so light makes right. Have fun with whatever you end up with.

Check out the Rene Herse tire pressure calculator. It has low and high pressures they’ve tested to be fastest. The low pressure is the comfortable one :), and likely faster on gravel and rough surfaces.

Stop calling them “might-o-chondria” because they might *not* o-chondria today, and start calling them “mighty-chondria”, and they’ll treat you better. 😜

And a socially distant hug back - one of my favorite Bluesky (and formerly Xitter) themes. 🍻

OK, just got it… but ebook from Kobo. 🤷‍♂️ I’m definitely looking forward to reading it as soon as I finish Vineland - thanks!

Him: “See, the shade is going to move around the tree in a circle.” … “The shade will move in a circle around the tree.” 😂🤯

When we go to our farmer’s market here in rural California, we stuff our wallets with $20 bills and then throw them around like confetti to get 3 bags of (really great) produce.
