@pkrugman.bsky.social made an observation a few days ago that in both crime and economics it's hard to fool people that things are great when the data shows otherwise, but the reverse isn't true: it's easy to use media influence to induce negativity.

My favorite Canadian snack are these Swiss Cheese crackers. They used to be available in the US and were part of the same line of Nabisco products as Better Cheddars, Vegetable Thins, and the chicken biscuit crackers. Long discontinued, but still available up north under this brand.

It's up in Harlem, but the original Patsy's has the best standard flat pizza slice I've had in Manhattan. The vodka square at Mama's Too is worth seeking out. Joe's and L'Industrie both excellent.
