If you have local ecotype seed to share please bring some and fill out a little info card to go with it. This information helps people understand where the seed came from and how it can fit into their plantings and projects.

These seeds are both incredibly common, in that they are in the ecosystem around us and incredibly rare in that the market for them barely exists as people are only becoming aware of the importance of local ecotypes.

Due to drought the garden has been looking a bit sad, but I’m hoping the rain falling now will perk it up a bit for the tour :) it will be a good time to see local ecotype fall wildflowers like ironweed, asters, goldenrods and snake root.
