You better be sure you “win” that strike. In Venezuela we learned the hard way what is to bet the farm on that strategy, it failing, and then there being no plan B.

Apple should just do what these guys do: Lie. Just say you will bring 20% of the production to the U.S. by,say, 2027. Buy a warehouse in some town in MO and put a billboard saying “Coming 2027” with a big Apple logo. Then contribute another $1M to the re-election campaign for good measure.

Has nothing to do with making sense. The point is to bring people to heel. If it damages or not the U.S., it’s workers and/or consumers, none of that matters. We have to quit trying to understand this as anything other than what is best for Trump and his immediate circle.

I agree and don’t. The problem I have is that Republicans are the ones that talk about self reliance when it comes to justifying why benefits must be eliminated. Yet, now we have people that couldn’t or were unwilling to adjust and we must feel for them.

And your Republicans colleagues are there, on the literal sidelines, cheering.Because cult of personality and proximity to power is more important than country. That is all we are.We are not that special or exceptional. We have fallen like so many countries we used to disparage as “banana republics”.

I say that we are within months of this administration sending the first U.S. citizen to El Salvador. Close to half this country will cheer because that is what we need: a Strongman. And we will be here, twitting away.

Talk to any supporter and they’ll say there’s a master plan. He’s a businessman and the U.S. needs to be run like a business. We need patience & allow the plan to play out
Risking the immediate & long term destiny of 330M people is irrelevant; the opinion of 100s,far better prepared experts,be damned

You are still stuck with the idea that we live in a country where the rule of law matters. Maybe it still does. I Don’t know. But it’s hanging by a tread. This country doesn’t realize how close it is to the precipice.
