I'm 55, Gen X, and this system doesn't work for me. I am *still* paying of student loans. I've worked since the age of 15, but I'll never be able to retire: one illness could wipe out all my (meager) savings. There's no social safety net, and we're expected to literally work ourselves to death.

Ditto. When his personal ambitions line up to support the things I value, he can be very bold and effective, but I'm not kidding myself about his motivations or character.

They're going to lie and make up their reasons for escalating - they've already started. So stopping the protest is like obeying in advance, which we must not do.
