We already have children begging in the streets. Obviously the current programs are not effective.

Many of us picked berries and did other jobs as kids. As adults we work and receive an income. While heartily in favor of qualified welfare, I am stringently opposed to giving money to people who make up excuse after excuse why they cannot be responsible for themselves and their children.

A lot of things are being promised and threatened, but the track record does not indicate that they actually will.
