hubert is clearly v traumatized by what happened to edelgard, & does what he thinks he needs to to protect her. it’s fun to explore how he can heal from that in other ships! but making him do something that would destabilize edelgard? hm

not to rant abt this at literally 6 am but one of the most fascinating things abt their dynamic is that they’re both ppl willing to dirty their hands to accomplish their goals, but hubert is willing to go further than edelgard for her sake.

yes hubert will do things that edelgard explicitly told him not to, yes he hides things from her, but only when he thinks it’s a benefit to her 🤷🏽‍♀️
