In America, not being able to drive functionally locks you out of modern society. If you are a teenager, elderly, disabled, or simply too poor to afford a car, you cannot fully participate in life.

Like, I am sorry to say this, but there are some people who were just never meant to drive. And that's okay! Or, it should be okay, but in the US, unless you live in one of the few major US cities with strong public transit infrastructure, you have no choice but to drive.
