Really enjoyed the Andy Goldsworthy exhibition at the National Gallery in Edinburgh today. Some great stuff.
A photo of an old fallen tree lying over a stream. On top, seeming to flow over the tree and on with the stream, Goldsworthy has shaped lots of whittled twigs. Too tricky to describe this one. Looks like an explosion of reeds on the wall of the gallery, with a vortex at its centre. From a distance this looked almost like an image of a green worm, or of an intestine. When you get up close you see it's made with small ferns attached to the wall. Very clever On the right a dry stane dyke. But there's a man, stretched out rigidly (like a plank) at an angle from the ground, with his head seemingly buried in the wall. A funny image.

I did the Arrochar-Glen Loin loop yesterday. Beautiful once you come below Ben Vorlich, Ben Vane and Beinn Ìme.

Valencia Cathedral, including the Holy Grail (allegedly).
A girl prays in front of the Holy Grail - what is reputed to be the chalice used by Jesus at the Last Supper. There's a stone archway behind the ornate altar. A beautiful stained glass window in the cathedral, in a Star of David shape with a large flower in the centre and other flower shapes around it. The octagonal vault that allows light to flood into the church, above the Gothic arches of the main church A view of the altar and its huge painted doors. It's very ornate with golds and reds and you can see the light flooding in through the upper windows

Xátiva Castle yesterday (Valencia region). It was the used in a scene in Andor, season 2 recently.
Blonde castle walls in the foreground with the square tower of the Upper Castle further away. Trees below it. Clear sky above. The castle was built by the Moors. View of the Lower Castle, taken from the Upper Castle. Moorish architecture - solid blond walls, square towers - on top of a ridge with trees all around and bigger mountains in the distance. Looking along a steep rocky ridge with a drop of a hundred metres or so. Trees below A view of the path linking the two parts of the castle and the castle walls on one side.

Tough walk up Ben Vorlich at Loch Earn today because of the heat. Great views tho.
Me at the summit cairn on Ben Vorlich. Behind me you can see a sliver of Loch Earn and mountains in the background against a blue sky with some little fluffy clouds. The big mass of Be. Vorlich against a clear sky. Trees in the foreground. A mallard duck swimming on the glass-like stillness of the loch. A hill reflected perfectly in the loch, with a sky streaked with thin clouds behind.

This morning's hillwalk - Buchaille Etive Beag in Glencoe. Outstanding.
The peak of Stob Dubh, one of the two Munros on Buchaille Etive Beag. You can make out a ridge that leads to the summit. Bright skies above. Me at the summit of Stob Coire Raineach, the second Munro I went up. You can see me smiling in the foreground (baseball type hat, long sleeved top) and behind me is the small rocky summit cairn and further away Loch Leven and some other hills. Beautiful walk in St Fillans, Perthshire yesterday.
Me sitting on a rock at the top of Dundurn hill in St Fillans in the Trossachs. Behind me is a bigger, rugged hill with an almost cloudless sky behind. Old gravestones in the foreground with the ruins of the old St Fillans church behind. Made of rough stone, its gable ends are still standing but the roof is gone. A view of the bottom of Loch Earn. Trees on the shoreline. The water is calm and the sky has no clouds A view looking down the River Earn, which is flanked by old trees.

A walk up An t-Sidhean this morning, above Strathyre in the Trossachs. Outstanding views of Loch Lubnaig from the summit.
A gorgeous view of Loch Lubnaig taken from high up. Lots of pine forests and green hills surrounding the loch. A view of Beinn Each in the distance with pine forests in front Beautiful little yellow flowers. Mountain primrose, or have I made that up? 😁 Another view of Loch Lubnaig from a bit lower down. This time we're looking over the pine trees to see part of the loch and surrounding hills.

Lovely wee walk up to the viewpoint above Inveraray today.

Tinto Hill this morning. A perfect day for it.
