With the twin global climate and biodiversity crises we are on the brink of extinction but push ahead regardless with business as usual. We are almost certainly beyond the point of no return.
Born 312ppm CO2... currently 426ppm

Probably the influence of board members such as McAndrew and Gibb both of whom were instrumental in setting up GB News...
November 28, 2025 at 4:18 PM
That statement can be repeated today for 2.0C...

"after UN climate talks in which there was a massive fight over language on fossil fuels, the UK government today announced that it will in fact be keeping many millions of barrels of oil & gas in the ground. Deeds rather than just words for a change!"

You think raiding the Warm Homes Plan to find the money for a one-off cut to energy bills is a good idea..
🥴

Greens really should be challenging the government's pursuit of economic growth and consumerism. These after all are at the heart of the global climate crisis.
November 26, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Well obviously because it would be a gift to Reform...
November 26, 2025 at 1:47 PM
Just get to the root of the problem and remove right wing climate deniers such as Gibb and McAndrew from the board.
November 25, 2025 at 9:00 PM
...there...
November 25, 2025 at 2:14 PM
BBC now heavily influenced by the likes of Gibb, McAndrew etc.
November 25, 2025 at 1:33 PM
Sounds like par for the course for hapless humans...
November 24, 2025 at 2:19 PM
Current national pledges (NDCs) remain collectively insufficient to limit warming to 1.5°C, putting the world on track for nearly 3°C of warming.
After 30 years I have to conclude that COP is not fit for purpose.
November 23, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Consensus decision making makes it so easy for the likes of Saudi Arabia to sabotage real progress.
November 22, 2025 at 5:43 PM
They will never agree on solutions to address the climate crisis and phase out fossil fuels when it's so easy for one or two countries such as Saudi Arabia and Russia to sabotage proceedings.
Obviously they have to ditch consensus decision making and move to majority such as two thirds..
November 22, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Looks like 'agreed' two road maps, one to end deforestation and one to transition away from fossil fuels. However, these are not part of the UN process, and therefore not backed by all 195 countries.
November 22, 2025 at 5:06 PM
Well, we're you expecting it to get better?
November 22, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Nice summary of the problem but realistically none of the four solutions you suggest are going to happen.
Humanity seems to hold the seeds of its own destruction within its DNA.
November 22, 2025 at 11:06 AM
How about one on the failure of the COP process?
November 22, 2025 at 9:57 AM
This farce was predictable from the start given the influence of the fossil fuel industry and the intransigence of countries such as Russia and Saudi Arabia.
November 21, 2025 at 1:37 PM
McAndrew and Gibb will be happy with this tame subject...
November 21, 2025 at 11:40 AM
Do any of the models take account of the impact of tipping points being triggered?
November 21, 2025 at 10:56 AM
Further proof that the COP process is not fit for purpose.
November 21, 2025 at 9:36 AM
The guy is insane...
November 20, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Of course there will still be an Earth, but one devoid of humans...
November 20, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Clearly the system is broken and requires a radical overhaul... just like the care system, privatised water, prison system, immigration, energy etc. etc.
