I am for it.

I am for it, candy and soda are just empty detrimental calories.

I looked into it more, and they most likely decided that she can have reasonable function with other modalities. Not sure, but that is what I am leaning towards.

I believe they define medically necessary as not restoring any function, just the functions that keep you from dying. Don't mark my words on that, though. Lawyer speak

I imagine they denied it because it is not medically necessary in the sense it will not affect her medical well being. It may affect her psychological well being and limit her ability to do things, but she won't get worse medically. The psychological portion though is tricky.

Interesting case study done by Professor Robert Sapolsky from Stanford, I can't remember the type of primate, but see if you can look it up on Youtube, it is interesting on how the society changed. I know it may be off topic somewhat, but its interesting and shows how things are dynamic.

It gets complicated and there is much debate of base human nature when economic scarcity comes into play. This is a hot topic in anthropology. There is so many interesting natures in mammal interactions, some conflicting like hierarchies in different species.
December 12, 2024 at 9:27 AM
Chomsky would argue it is primarily human nature where it is related to our language facility, where language was used to help others and to figure things out (i.e. "Where are the berries". But as you suggested, we have other natures, he is arguing the primary.

You are up late? That is my patriarchy concern for you, haha.
December 11, 2024 at 11:18 PM
Yes, both occur, but this is drilling into the base human nature. Chomsky cites historic evidence for his argument and argues fear, jealousy is needed to kick in competition to highlight competition. I am probably not doing justice to the argument, and their is no definitive answer,
December 11, 2024 at 11:16 PM
Follow up this stream of thought, this is reminiscent of the debate between Steven Pinker and Noam Chomsky on what is the base human nature? Chomsky would say creativity, and compassion falls under this, while Steven Pinker believes the base human nature is competition.

I think evolutionarily that women are more important for society, for one they have to carry the baby and they are just better caregivers in my opinion. Women in general are more compassionate and for me I want our youth to be instilled with those values. Men in my opinion are more competitive.
December 11, 2024 at 10:50 PM
Some men probably did, we have made moral progress. I think this is a thesis-antithesis situation. Sometimes, we take things to far with the antithesis.
December 11, 2024 at 9:50 PM
I want the best for women, I am pro-Choice. I think women should also think of how to make their men feel manly.
December 11, 2024 at 9:48 PM
I think they haven given up on themselves, because they are confused of what they can offer. They probably just get their sexual gratification from porn because their idea of the sexual dynamics between men and women has gotten skewed. Yes, this is really speculative from what I have learned.
December 11, 2024 at 9:45 PM
I believe men should take out the garbage and cut the lawn, I still believe in gender roles, so does my wife, and I think all girlfriends prior to her. Did you ever see the Nate Barzgate comedic bit on how his wife likes to cut the lawn?
December 11, 2024 at 9:37 PM
Do you believe men should be chilvarous? I have a sneeky suspicion that this is possibly human nature of a man, but we are getting mixed signals from women and society that deter from this instinct. It is making men confused and leading to this incel phenomenon.
December 11, 2024 at 9:34 PM
I see you are Norwegian, me and my wife considered that would be a great place to live, but I think I wouldn't qualify. Please give a good word for me to the right officials. haha Magnus Carlsen is my favorite Chess Player and I love the values you guys have and it created a great place.

So, my definition of acceptable freedom is you can do whatever you want until it infringes on other people. An example would be like shooting off fireworks, people argue it is a freedom, but a lot of people are affecting by the noise and loose their freedom of peacefulness and my dogs hate it. haha
December 11, 2024 at 8:17 PM
It may be taking away someone's freedom, but it is also taking away the men's freedom of who they want to do combat with. I am in Florida, many military people here and my unscientific poll is that they are not in favor of it. Though the general public may be, it doesn't effect them.
December 11, 2024 at 8:14 PM
True, but I can still have those feelings and I can vote those feelings, not that this one policy would would sway me from a vote for democrat, because it is not a core value.

I imagine if your significant other is a male, he would risk his life to save yours. Just like you would risk your life for your children.
December 11, 2024 at 5:29 PM
This may not be taken serious by you, but I love women and admire them for so many reasons. I think women may be the key to a more just and compassionate society and they are likely more intelligent in a matter of speaking then men. I just don't want them fighting in combat situations.
December 11, 2024 at 5:27 PM
Plenty of drama probably amongst men, doesn't mean we want to add more. No doubt the relations amongst men may be not ideal, but adding to it with the dynamic in the combat units would make it even worse and I believe less effective.
