I remember in college art class learning about critical deconstruction. And it was fun to tear down the old. But we were never taught that we should build something new each time we did that. Just the tearing down was the end goal.

I've been thinking about this for awhile, but didn't take it to this (logical) conclusion. I've been thinking about us in Gen-X being sarcastic about everything and now no one believing anyone does anything earnestly...

I remember people saying the same thing about Boomers: that they're younger versions would be disappointed. But the truth is that there weren't that many actual hippies in the 60s and there probably weren't that many actual counter-culture folx in the 90s. (And I'm proud of you, too!)
