Should probably play it back to back with the original before commenting but my biggest takeaway from Half-Life 2 RTX was how annoying the movement in that game is. Meanwhile, visually, all the uprated models/textures feels like they mask any ray tracing benefits.

Largely loving #Paradise on Disney+ (binged five episodes in one evening) but, boy oh boy, was the Billy episode spectacularly dumb in how they executed the execution. There's no way he wouldn't have just killed big bad in their office and said what needed to be said to X.

This style of country selection on Newegg is so neat and should be adopted by all websites. EOM

Saw this quote today. Its truth made me chuckle. "A meritocracy lasts up until a successful man has a mediocre son he doesn't hate."

Omg, the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 save system is one of the worst things I've ever encountered in any game ever. Who cares if it's save spamming to get through the game. It's single player!

The utterly lacklustre raw performance gains of Blackwell/RTX 5000 really does make you think AMD missed a golden opportunity by not chasing the high-end this gen. A 10% performance bump over the 7900 XTX with better ray tracing would've been major competition to the RTX 5080.

How is it Cyberpunk 2077 still has so many steps just to load the game up? Click Play in Steam, choose to login via your account or not, hit a landing page, launch Cyberpunk 2077, wait for credits, press space to skip an intro, hit space to continue, finally to hit the main menu.

Anyone else find Travis Fimmel almost singlehandedly brings #DuneProphecy down? Such a central character and it's amateur ham hour.

This 8K 120Hz monitor from TCL remains possibly my favourite thing I saw at CES last year. Will be interesting to see if they have a followup this year, though sadly I won't be on the show floor to find out. www.pcgamesn.com/tcl-csot-igz...

Not really sure what to make of the new Superman trailer. Slightly jarring seeing any new Superman after Cavill era, a little bit not vibing with the MCU/Gunn look and feel... There's also something decidedly not epic about the whole thing. youtu.be/uhUht6vAsMY?...

Mind slightly blown that Die Antwoord's Enter the Ninja 'only' has 98M views on YouTube and is far from their most watched video. Considering how viral a moment that video was at the time, I assumed it would be far and away their most viewed. youtu.be/cegdR0GiJl4?...

Took this photo a week or so ago, fuming at the fact that Euston station's ridiculous massive advertising board wasn't even showing an ad, let alone being useful. Turns out... www.railtechnologymagazine.com/articles/eus...

Did a proper binge watch last night. Whole six hour series of Black Doves polished off in one go. Not done that in a while. Just compelling enough, even though the titular black doves organisation is so dumb as to almost ruin the show.

Don't follow football much these days so this is fascinating to see. Was ever the huge frustration with Arsenal under Wenger that they wouldn't just get on and put it in the box sometimes. Considered directness really can work. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...

How on earth did Damnation Festival suddenly get to be £170 a ticket!? You can't even camp there and it's more expensive than three days of gigs in London for Desertfest. Bring back the single day and done setup!

Such a shame that Alex Cross is... Utter rubbish. So much budget and a very watchable premise let down by utterly stupid plot points (like they wouldn't get a warrant for that audio message or just knock on the door!?) and cartoon villains.

I was legitimately bowled over by these. They're comfortable (no head squeeze for glasses wearers), sound great, and last ages.
The SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds are a bit of a revelation in PC gaming audio. Read our full review to find out why: www.pcgamesn.com/steelseries/...
