Some might argue Iron Man 3 was not that great…

You're quite the wordsmith…

Everytime I see this clip, I'm reminded of how there will never be a more perfect personification of Tony Stark than RDJ himself, because this is exactly who the character is and what he thinks of other billionaires.

Must… resist… Word Crimes…

Reed is not gonna cut it. I don't think people responded that well to Fantastic Four.

Like, I have my critique of Marvel humor, but these people were acting like comic book movies had to be a dour procession to be considered legitimate.

Just a bunch of people who were mad that Marvel movies were getting all the attention during the Infinity Saga, instead of the movies they identified with.

Things are looking up!

TBH I don't think there's racist motive behind the choice to not recast; Hollywood never had an issue recasting a role to keep a successful franchise going (the simplest answer is that Disney was afraid of a PR fumble if people rejected a new Tchalla)… but it does serve racist agendas nonetheless.

I think the main reason AI won't replace actors is because they still need a real live person for audiences to connect to. Sure, you could paste Sean Connery's face on every James Bond stand in for the rest of time, but the stand in won't do press junkets and promo if people can't recognize them.
November 14, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Several franchises have no problem with recasting; it's even a highlight of theirs (see James Bond, Doctor Who, etc).
November 14, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Look at how many people are crying for Disney to bring Wesley Snipes back and dump Mahershala Ali. And don't even dare suggest to a fan that Hugh Jackman should be replaced as Wolverine…
November 14, 2025 at 6:04 PM
I'll defend the industry on this one; Hollywood execs have never had a problem with recasts. It's the audiences who often reject them when they endear themselves to the original actor's performance.
November 14, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Imagine telling David Tenant or Matt Smith that they had to wear a digital mask of William Hartnell for the role of Doctor Who… or telling Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig that they had to cosplay as Sean Connery as James Bond.

Take out "VO" and still rings true. It's what gave way to the idea that Boseman was "too iconic to be replaced"… ironically despite the fact Boseman 's brother was entirely supportive of a recast.
November 14, 2025 at 4:45 PM
To be fair, we would've never got Joker 2, but I see your point…
November 14, 2025 at 3:52 PM
I'm not even comfortable with that; let new actors give their own take on characters without having to mimic dead ones. People act like audience brains fry whenever an actor is replaced, like this was an actual problem that people didn't just get over immediately.

Love them together. Hottest couple in Marvel.
November 14, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Sure; the plot point is overused. And perhaps it's not explained as clearly as it should, but they DO explain why he's having to keep his technology from being stolen or misused. It's a recurring theme central to his origin.

Contrary to popular belief, Manhattan is not the town with the most skyscrapers in the world. He would be right at home if he was actually from Hong Kong, where they have 1.76x as many skyscrapers as NY.

Mostly because it's usually his stuff that's constantly under attack or being stolen.

Spare a thought for the admin of the r/WEC Discord who was doing the Lord's with trying to keep us focused everytime this car came on screen:

From a practical stand point, yes, since Lamborghini already has an LMDh that hasn't been out of use for too long. But from a branding perspective, Audi and Porsche will always make more sense.

In theory you can sell an F1 team, but the price is so steep, Andretti just decided to build one from scratch.
