Totally! I think there is something interesting there around choice - young people choosing to be at youth organisations vs having to be at school. lots to learn from the youth work sector!

Such a valuable learning! So interested in the intersection of YPAR and positive youth development theory which not only acknowledges the need for relational approaches within participation work but celebrates it as strength of participatory methodologies

So important and when working with young people im really interested in creative ways that we can share this information that makes it accessible and understandable for different ages too.

It seems ridiculous but also such an obvious opportunity for schools to open up conversations for addressing issues that arise in toilets with students rather than taking such a punitive approach

I’m interested if people have experience working with schools and students to find solutions

I’m interested in the roles young people and adults play within participation projects and am currently working on a paper that speaks to this.

Participation opens up a dialogue where young people’s views are considered within a decision making process and although power dynamics are acknowledged, adults views and understanding can also be taken into account. #youthparticipation

Some colleagues and I as a youth worker wrote a paper that spoke to this a little bit. It posed questions to think with for academic ethics panels that considered an ethics of care and relational approaches to research!

Exactly! It’s an important conversation to have and of course it would be an interesting study to involve young people in that conversation!

Ahh yes makes sense. it will definitely be helpful as a tool to encourage those who hadn’t bothered with either! I like the idea of searching for pre existing material on both sides! Thanks again for sharing

Thanks for this resource! I’ve been thinking a lot about consultation fatigue and a sentiment of “stop asking us the same questions” in some of my work. Really interested in some of the questions around utilising previous research/voices in decision making processes.

Such an important conversation and great to consider other ways of recognising/valuing co researchers when we think about the research happening in community settings with tight budgets.
