If Trump is allowed to use the Alien Enemies Act to swiftly deport someone to a prison in El Salvador without due process…
…HE COULD DO IT TO A US CITIZEN.

Eliminate income tax on social security benefits?

That would cause the social security trust fund to run dry even sooner.

50% of the taxes on social security benefits contribute to the social security trust fund, and for high earners, another 35% go to the Medicare system.

News organizations reported that Musk asked the pentagon for a briefing on war plans regarding China – and they agreed to do it.

Well, the news reports caused a ruckus, and Trump (and his lackey Hegseth) said “No, the meeting is only about efficiency”

Why did Trump choose to beat up Columbia University?
Decades Ago, Columbia Refused to Pay Trump $400 Million
A quarter-century ago, the university was looking to expand. It considered, and rejected, property owned by Donald Trump.
He did not forget it.

Trump says he’s “remaking the US economy” …
that the job growth under Biden was all low-value government employees, and he’s pushing those folks out, so we’ll get real job growth in the private sector.

The claim that job growth under Biden was mainly government employment is completely false.

Angry progressives are claiming that Schumer’s support of the GOP CR enables Trump to keep taking the federal government apart.
That’s backwards.
It’s a shutdown that would truly enable Trump.
When we have a budget law in effect, and Trump violates it, we can go into court and get an injunction.

Trump slaps tariffs on Mexico and Canada…

…and then immediately stops them.

And he didn’t get anything from Mexico and Canada that they had not already offered!

He’s just doing this to “look strong”.

What does Trump want from California’s government, before he will allow federal aid to California’s wildfire recovery?

Some change to how they manage fire danger?

Some change to how they fight fires?

No, he wants California to implement voter ID.

“I went through four years of hell by this scum that we had to deal with. I went through four years of hell. I spent millions of dollars on legal fees, and I won, but I did it the hard way. It’s really hard to say that they shouldn’t have to go through it also.”–President Donald Trump

The Justice Department has ordered U.S. attorneys to investigate and prosecute law enforcement officials in states and cities if they refuse to enforce the Trump administration’s new immigration policies.

Trump pardoned almost all the people he urged to attack the capitol on January 6 – including people who attacked law enforcement officers.

The few he did not pardon, who were convicted of seditious conspiracy - he commuted their sentences and let them out of jail.

George Takei has seen the worst of this country. If he’s down to fight…
This is heartening to see! The resistance is beginning.

I know we are tired. I know we are fearful. But we will make ourselves heard and reclaim this country from the grip of MAGA fascism.

I’ve seen the inside of barbed wire prison camps in America. We came back from that and shall overcome this.
The People’s March is moving through the streets of Washington: “We won’t go back!”

A broad coalition of activists — among them climate, women’s rights, immigration, anti-war, LGBT, D.C. statehood, racial justice — are mobilizing in unison against Trump, three days before his inauguration. 🧵
