I still think about Satoshi Kon's Dreaming Machine.

You and Idol Precure (2024-2025) It's better than the last few, it's got a solid cast, the action is on point again, but it peaks around halfway through, and everything beyond that lacks the spark that previous Precure seasons have.

Predator: Badlands (2025) - I have problems with this movie, I feel there's some overdone quippiness and quirky shit they maybe could have reigned in. That being said, i'm open to doing a different concept like this for the Predator movies and I respect that the Weyland-Yutani stuff felt tasteful.

Predator (1987):

STILL THE BEST 1987

Diamonds Are Forever (1971) Oh my god. My expectations with this one were low but holy shit. Was the paycheck worth it Connery?

That being said, at least I know where those two KND villains came from.

Labyrinth of the Demon King (2025): It's definitely worth playing, although the game feels like it ends before it really gets going. Early combat in the game is fine, but it tapers off when you realize the lack of enemy variety and poor bosses. Still, for one dev, very solid.

The Last Samurai (2003): I think it's not a bad film, just uneven and pretty clearly trying to channel Dances With Wolves. If you know anything about the time period and society it's set in, the movie either becomes either worse, or funnier.

Why were the Ninjas there.

Media Thread last year tapered off, but that was because I didn't start early and lock in. New Year, new standards, new attempts. This is my 2026 Media Thread.

Still remember going to the zoo and hearing a talk about how Dingos are actually a supportive species against pests and are more chill than people give them credit for.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (2025): I'll get it out of the way that the Parry mechanics are poorly balanced and hurt the combat, which is a shame when the offensive side is so good. But everything else, the music, art direction and writing, was an absolute joy to experience.
May 25, 2025 at 4:07 AM
Doom: The Dark Ages (2025): An absolute letdown where it's core ambitions were fumbled for reasons i'm not fully sure I can comprehend, either due to being rushed or just overcommitting to bad ideas. I'm just about done with parry focused games.

That's not even getting into the fact that so much of the show feels like it's in closeups. It legit feels claustrophobic. And for GG media, the fact that the opening is bad, ontop of a lifeless main OST plus no actual songs from the games is criminal. I cannot believe how incompetent this was.

Sinners (2025): This is a movie where I was wondering where it was going to go, and then it went in directions that were weird but the ending helped pull things together and that ending ruled so hard. Amazing film.

It's about the Blues (among others things)
