The Department of Health and Social Care has announced today that over 100,000 Baby Loss Certificates have now been issued to recognise losses before 24 weeks of pregnancy.

Yesterday, 11 March 2025, the Government confirmed its commitment to bereavement leave for pre-24-week pregnancy loss, with plans to amend the Employment Rights Bill. This is a major milestone in recognising the impact of pregnancy loss and the urgent need for compassionate workplace support.
