A must-read from calmatters.org on the value of Head Start, and what’s at stake for thousands of children and families across California.

The piece includes ECS voices and was shaped in part by time spent at our Día del Niño celebration at St. John’s ECS Head Start in Chula Vista.
Last month, President Donald Trump’s early budget draft called for the elimination of Head Start, the free early-childhood program for low-income families. That triggered an all-hands-on-deck response from Head Start staff, families and alumni. buff.ly/7V4jeuF

Today, ECS stood with Reps. Vargas, @levin.house.gov, and @sarajacobs.house.gov, the SD Chamber, and community leaders to oppose Medicaid cuts. Proudly represented by Stacie Perez and Embrie Tapia, we’re fighting for the health and dignity of our community.

TAKE ACTION NOW.

A newly proposed federal budget would eliminate Head Start entirely, cutting off access to early education and essential family support services for thousands of underserved children across the San Diego region.
