Iowa City, go outside now! The Northern Lights are visible from the naked eye, in town. I drove out to Hoover highway to get some photos, and the colors are almost more striking in town.

It's hard work chasing raccoons at 4am and making mom drag me inside in her jammies and then pulling curtain rods out of the wall while I go crazy barking at people on the street 🐩

This has been a super tough month so far full of loss & the challenges of working in public service. I'm headed back to the UK and Ireland for a break next week. Until then, I'll just continually look at this photo of my dog, because it doesn't fail to make me LOL. Savor the tiny moments of joy!

He looks like a distinguished gentleman, but he's really just waiting patiently to lick the container from my Hy-Chi.
(For the non-Iowans, that's Chinese food from Hy-Vee. It's not great, but sometimes you just gotta have it)
