I am the Chief Recruiting Officer for the Green Consumer Revolution proposed in the new book "One Big Voice; When Money Talks… Environmentally" (see onebigvoice.us). Stay tuned here for how to become a consumer revolutionary.
David--Unassailably, consumers caused the environmental problem with their purchases of ecologically degrading goods and services--even with cleaner options available for at least 25 years. With a hard-nose change of preference, consumers can buy tomorrow's children out of ecological ruin. Easy

Shay--Think what business is; it's manufacturers and producers on one side and consumers on the other. We consumers have the money, business wants it. If we withhold expenditures for ecologically degrading goods and services and buy clean options instead, we can actually save the environment.

Lawns, plainly and simply, are a bad idea. They inevitably become saturated with synthetic chemicals that end up in our drinking water. They provide precious little CO2 up-take and oxygen creation. Turn lawns into well-groomed mini-forests and/or natural grasslands, and pat yourself on the back.

This is more of the best 3rd party reporting out there on the consequences of deforestation (for whatever reasons) and poor forest management. Consumers have to start spending their money on goods and services that save trees and the soil that supports them--or else. Good options are available

Tyler--The loss of global photosynthesis from deforestation and plant-life destruction in the ocean due to trawling, mining and drilling is the first of the seven causes of ecological destruction. Reforestation and re-wilding can push back the desertification the article describes. Thanks
