I was on a University of Washington student field trip (Northeast CA to Sequoia-Kings NP) in Sept 1997.
Lead by the one & only Dr. Jerry Franklin with Dr. Bob Van Pelt.
We visited Teakettle!
It was 11 days of driving & visiting forests in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

The Big Burn/the Weeks Act have been applied across North America since then with Smokey the Bear's help to say: All Fire is Bad!

The Northwest Forest Plan (NWFP) (for the Spotted Owl & included Riparian Buffers for Salmon) has done incredible work looking after super important Old Growth Forests.
