Peter Navarro says everybody needs to calm down, let the market hit the bottom, and rest assured that the ride back upward is going be downright delirious. He's one of the kookiest economists out here. Just crazy.

Unsurprisingly, Musk is squabbling with Navarro over Trump's tariffs. The billionaire is trying to protect that bag.

Trump is like a doctor who tells you that pain is the pathway to health.

Civil Disobedience does not mean that those who engage in it must be "polite" and "civil" toward those who couldn't care less about their lives.

65% of Black women who give birth rely on Medicaid for pregnancy and postpartum care, compared to 42% for all U.S. mothers. Slashing Medicaid is a sure fire recipe for worsening the Black maternal health crisis.

So, we have an outbreak of measles in Texas and, tragically, an unvaccinated child dies. And the head of HHS, Robert Kennedy, pretty much responds with “hey, shit happens.” We’ve got a problem on our hands

This administration is openly hostile to the notion of human rights, including the right to health care.

According to the last census count, there's almost 37 million persons who fall below the official poverty line. The poverty rate for Black folks-- 18%-- remains one of the highest in the nation. So, make no mistake about: Slashes to Medicare would fall particularly hard on us.

The road to austerity is paved with obsession about the national debt, stories suggesting that we're running out of dollars, cries about insolvency, and endless and erroneously likening of the federal budget to that of a household.

Excellent piece on Coretta Scott King and her leadership in the fight for full employment. The labor and leadership of Black women has been--and still is-- often overlooked.
Why Coretta Scott King Fought for a Job Guarantee - Boston Review
She saw economic precarity not just as a side effect of racial subjugation, but central to its functioning.

Speaking of MLK, one of the demands of the organizers of the 1963 March on Washington For Jobs and Freedom was a minimum wage of $2.00 per hour. That's the equivalent of $21.00 per hour today. Fighting for higher wages is one of the ways in which we ought to honor the memory of MLK.
