Anyways, this is why women choose the bear.

Here's a picture of my cute little bike just to spite that asshole.

Ultimately, he stops approaching me but continues raging. I put my hands out, said to calm down, and he got back into his truck, but not before reiterating what a whore I am. For wanting to cross the street, in a crosswalk, safely.

I'm so exhausted by living in this world with abusive monsters.

The way this man jumped out, walked toward me, screaming his bullshit, truly did make me feel like he was going to hurt me.

Do I throw my bike at him if he gets too close? Do I jump on and peddle as fast as I can? I live close by but don't want to be followed by this psycho.

Calling me a "a stupid fucking hoe, that I was in the "fucking way," and that I deserve to get hit and he would be happy to be the one to do it.

Mind you, there are at least four other vehicles now stuck here because he's blocking one lane with his truck and one lane with his crazy rage-fueled body

And I did look into the too-tinted driver window and say "it's a fucking cross walk." Again, not the first time this has happened to me.

Well, that spurred up a level of rage in this man that makes me pray he doesn't have a wife. He slammed his brakes, and jumped into the street, screaming

A crosswalk with the little button and the flashing lights. I make it halfway thru the intersection when giant black pickup holding a large trailer starts to drive through at speed. Again, while I'm still mid-cross.

Now, I do have a tendency to mean mug people who do that 🧵

I admittedly am only 1/3 thru, but it's very reminiscent of Parable of the Sower thus far.

Grist's Metamorphosis is a great climate fiction collection.

They're never going to acquiesce power and they will never stop. No amount of money or fame or power will make them feel fulfilled.

It's up to us, collectively to wake up and take back what is ours: our lives, our families, our health, our communities. We deserve it all and more.

Legit thought it was going to break my windows in NE.

So many folks in the room seemed invested in climate action because they saw a path forward to making money, for themselves or their corporations.

How do we blow up all the old systems when the world itself is burning?
