1,475 British soldiers died on D-Day.
73,000 Allied forces were killed in the Battle of Normandy.
We must never forget that their sacrifice gave us our freedom.

Absolutely - we are 6kms from the tour on Stage 6 as the riders climb the steep Mont Pinçon and ideally located to then jump in the car and see the finish of the stage at Vire.

What April Fools have you seen today? Apparently we are getting a ski slope just down the road from us (with cable car), our local zoo now has dragons, a company is creating slide runs just for pets and there will be an underwater bike trial with glass sides to access Mont Saint Michel 🤣🤣🤣

Not sure what is happening with that great big gaps in bookings in June and early July. Last year these were booked up easily.
June includes the commemorations for D-Day and July includes the Tour de France passing very close to the gite.

I loved the picture on my PC this morning. Goldfinches are one of my favourite birds and at times this winter we had over 30 of them around the bird feeders. We are very lucky to live in a region that has so many birds of a wide variety of species. Just waiting, now for the first swallows to arrive.
