this is a love it or hate it film and i loved it. deeply atmospheric, slow paced, moody story about a woman isolated on a small island who is beset by escalating harassment from the men around. i went into this expecting a 2/5 slasher and got a 5/5 thriller.

it's a tie between all of these, not sure which was first. Alien was the first horror film i obsessed over, but i think Are You Afraid of the Dark scared me more than anything else as a kid. an enticing fear.
