I used to feel this way but now I think the pendulum has swung too far the other way. If it takes more than 1.5-2 minutes to make a determination then they should just let the call stand. I can live with some “wrong” calls to keep the flow going.

I think NYC mayor is the exception, not the rule. That particular race gets so much media coverage that it doesn’t really need any help from federal-level elections.

I wonder how much of the solution is just MLS figuring out a way to stick around for another 50-100 years? Maybe that will help create stronger emotional (trauma?) bonding with the team/league/sport?
