I still hold some hope that since everything has gotten so much worse he's pulled his head out of his ass, but I'm going to operate on the assumption that he hasn't until he shows more material confirmation. For all I know he could've fallen even deeper down the cornhole.

I think it's because TD games haven't really escaped the "flash game" reputation they have and aren't really seen as a legitimate genre compared to something like platformers or shooters.

Agreed. I really think the future of the show is to get rid of the idea of a sole showrunner altogether. Break it down into smaller jobs or at least have 2 showrunners so that the bar for entry isn't so absurdly high.
