Eclectic Voices
@eclecticvoices.bsky.social
One of the most ambitious choirs in London with the variety the name implies.

Our event on March 15th is a concert to celebrate 35 years of Eclectic Voices, with Dame Emma Kirkby and professors Robert Levin and David Dolan. To take part see our website.
Our next event is a free concert on 12th December at the American International Church, where we share the stage with the choir of the church and a period instrument ensemble to present Charpentier's Messe de Minuit pour Noël and Poulenc's Four Motets for Christmas.

Last night’s final rehearsal with the meeting of orchestra, choir and soloists, not to mention Robert Levin himself, was hard graft but sounded great. Today it’s showtime!

It seems the Barbican had a few more tickets left but we are now down to the very last 20, released this morning!

Thanks to all who came to the concert tonight. Some great performances, especially from Adrian and Jono! But it doesn’t stop. Our next concert is on 20 January. It’s all about Mozart. Indeed you might be able to meet him (sort of). Intrigued? Keep following and all will be revealed. Diarise! 20.1.25

Yay 11 - Britten Ensemble - let's not forget that we'll be appearing alongside a top class chamber orchestra. Their sound will warm your Sunday afternoon.

Yay 10 (sorry I did two 7’s) - Scott Stroman. EV's director is an inspiration and driving force across the London (and beyond) music scene. Eclectic Voices' range of repertoire and adventure is all down to Scott's vision and determination. He'll be leading us on this exciting musical journey.

Yay 8 - JS Bach and Eric Whitacre - while Britten dominates our programme on 15 December, we also have pieces by other greats, ancient and living. JSB’s cantatas needs no introduction and Whitacre’s Lux Arumque will shimmer and glow. See for yourself and tell friends. Tickets in bio.

Yay 7 - Jonathan Eyers - Jono our other soloist and regular collaborator with the choir sings with "beautiful lyrical direction and depth of expression" according to Opera Today. The EV basses look on in awe!

Yay 6 - Santa Claus - Britten's St Nicholas is the central piece of the concert - it's about the 4th century saint who made a pilgrimage to Palestine, became the Bishop of Myra, an ancient city now in Turkey, before becoming the gift distributing icon of modern Christmas we know as Santa!

Yay 5 - FIVE PIECES WE SING!
December 8, 2024 at 9:21 AM
Yay 3. Benjamin Britten - the core of our show is two works by one of Britain's all time great composers - learning and getting to know the pieces has been huge pleasure and a great challenge. It's a lot more than knocking off a few carols!
December 6, 2024 at 9:02 AM
Yay 2 - Adrian Thompson - our superstar tenor soloist Adrian, an old friend of the choir is a genuine star. Look him up - his CV is frankly incredible. We can't wait to work with him again. And did you know that as a boy Adrian worked with Benjamin Britten! Hear him sing on Dec 15. Tickets in bio.
