I pretty much know the whole story at this point but she is such an amazing writer I'm determined to get myself in the frame of mind to read it someday

Yeah. Embarrassed to say I still haven't read Parable of the Sower for this reason. I tried again a few years ago but I couldn't handle it.

They finally retired this color I think, or at least the name (can't imagine why!), but I'm going to just refill my last bottle with peach paint forever because it will never not be funny

For this one I filmed myself skating around the empty building at work so I could play around with color, layering, and movement. Just an experiment, but I like some of what's happening.

Here's a link to Gene's entire book that you can read for free:

I don't romaticize non-violence as the only way (also one of the points she was making), but I think having lots of ideas to build off of in order to confuse and distract fascists (a tactic they pull on us all the time) is going to be so important in the years to come.

Forgot she likes to delete her posts when they get too much traction. She was sharing this list of non-violent actions based on research by Gene Sharp.

Even funnier is the case wasn't what I wanted so I returned it, lol. Rejected by their God.

One of my favorite movies ever if you are looking for something silly and unique to watch and you haven't seen it. It's free on Tubi (I know they're evil but...) or it is sometimes available for digital rental thru the local library.

The romance plot line is badly done and unconvincing (pretty common with 80's-90's sci-fi), but the rest of the movie makes up for it.

It has everything--retrofuturism, badass heroine, muscle cars, ridiculous action scenes, a sadistic gang who live in a desert resort and dress in crazy 50's/80's shirts, a cameo by young Laurence Fishburn, a cave dwelling hitman named Six Fingered Jake and rides a raft with donkeys?! (I love him).
