i feel like the only long-term solution (i am fully expecting IA and the other archive site to collapse within 5 years) is hosting a semi-private mirror (outside Fandom)

I'm not a lawyer, of course, but I don't see how IA taking full page screenshots/storing html+css (like they do right now?) would be any more fair use than if Wookieepedia were to do the same.

there's no easy solution, but I don't see how copyright would be an issue if it isn't one for IA

and the scary part is that I don't trust IA that much either
