I use audacity rn but hopefully want ableton eventually

How do you blend background sfx with speakers in the audio?

What are some tools you use to help cut background audio in audacity? I know about the noise removal option but sometimes it makes talking too quiet without fully cutting background stuff. How do you work around that?
