IR Masters grad of UoL; Lover of travel, history, politics (centrist lib, apologies); and overall humanities bore. Please give me a job.
Awful, but proof of how much GOTV and enthusiasm generally matters if this holds throughout the night. FWIW, so many in my circle who are usually decently politically aware entirely missed these locals being on, whereas I feel like Reform has been hyping up their voterbase for them.

I believe certain French political scientists saw this coming when they came up with theories of 'Insécurité culturelle' (Cultural Insecurity) especially when it comes to a certain already self-denigrating / precarious white working class voterbase.

Guilty on 'wedded to STV' charge, and I think I'll die on that hill. Having Ireland (including even NI elections) across the water probably helps, haha.
For all the people who put it down as 'too complicated', I honestly think most in practice will find the 'just rank your options' mechanics easy.

The crosstabs are certainly fascinating! Shoutout to Reform having the lowest Libertarian support in spite of seemingly having the loudest libertarian ideologues. I suspect this comes from the sheer discrepancy between it's leaders/wealthier supporters and the actual working class base's interests.

One of many examples of how distinct a niche Reform is, and why Tory leaders pivoting to Reform voters is such a bad idea for their future.

The brilliant artist Alphonse Mucha (who also has a great little museum in Prague) was commisioned for that distinctive art-nouvuae panel in 1931, which is very much in his style. Such a wonderful spot!
