I'm thinking Akihiro was always meant to be in Ultimate X-Men, I mean it just makes sense to use the Japanese kid of Logan in a book that stars Japanese mutants, its likely they intended Logan to just be dead dead before they changed their minds and retconned the skeleton

Same, I was thinking that was gonna be the case, unfortunately it wasn't. Though will I say, I found there's an odd contingent of UXM fanboys who keep attacking Condon and saying how he's ruining Momoko's work, which is so untrue, and it comes off as a case of infantilizing an Asian creator

If I had been writing Ultimate Wolverine, would have had the real twist be that the real protagonist is Sabertooth, and he's the one going by Wolverine, him seeking to save Logan from the Rasputins. He's the one interesting character Condon wrote

It's so weird to me, because he is a great writer, and I see a thimble of creativity in Ultimate Wolverine, but I can tell this was solely made to appease X-Men fans who were crybabies over Momoko's take on the X-Men

Killing off like 80% of your cast is crazy. Condon had so much creative freedom and just penned out one of the most bland takes on Wolverine, its crazy

It is the weakest, its not outright horrible, but is is very creatively bankrupt
