Do I agree with everything David produced? Of course not. I sometimes disagree with things I myself wrote years ago; that is part of growth. Do I think he was right more often than he was wrong, that he produced more good work than questionable? Yes. In hope you enjoy my perspective essay.

I think we can all find something with which we disagree with any scholar, particularly when we are passionate about the subject on which we disagree, and when the scholar has a long, extensive body of work.

That's the easy part. The hard part is judging them in totality.
