This advertisement makes me want to drink this wonderful beer from @samueladamsbeer.bsky.social not that I have any bias towards the handsome husky bearded opera singer featured in the ad. :) (but seriously... its darn good light beer)
When I was a kid, there was an episode of He-Man where he teamed up with Skeletor to fight another evil. With Dick Cheney dying, I want to say... I offer him the same grace I offer to Skeletor, you were evil as fuck, I am glad you spoke out against Trump, But you were still a horrid person.

Regardless of the complex issues surrounding the latter, I am happy as a Massachusetts voter that I can just watch Mamdani and Platner videos and enjoy the weidly hopeful feelings they make me feel about our future politics. Maybe its fake, maybe its real, but I enjoy it regardless.

and now its being reported that Sinclair and Nexster affiliates STILL wont air Kimmel. Again. Consumers dont matter... all that matters to these people are shareholders. You cant cost them more than they would lose if they get their $6 Billion dollar merger blocked.
September 23, 2025 at 4:28 PM
I am far more cynical about the Kimmel return. It is more likely because the white house can say the "message was sent" and Nexstar was told they will still get their 6 billion dollar merger. The boycott reportedly cost them 1/6th of that. Nowhere near enough to appease shareholders.

I know this goes against both sides' narrative. But.. this whole thing is starting to look less like "politically motivated violence" and more like every other unhinged mass shooter we have had for the last 30+ years.

I didn't have the Metropolitan Opera AND the Wrestlemania both selling out to Saudi Arabia in the course of like 2 weeks on my Bingo card.

Im not really compelled to compliment the governor who bragged about kicking homeless people while they are down and who throws trans people under the bus, using the plagiarism engine to troll a marginally more shitty fascist dickhead. but man on facebook people are REALLY into it.

If you had said back in the 80s that Ozzy would go out with people from all walks of life expressing deep love and respect for him, while Hulk Hogan would go out with many of his former biggest fans shrugging because of how shitty a person he turned out to be.... Nobody would believe you.

Ozzy is possibly the musician i have seen the most. I went to 4 Ozzfests and several other solo shows and black Sabbath shows. He was quite simply the best all around performer I have ever seen. Tireless, receptive, and thoroughly entertaining every time. An icon. Im kinda gutted RIP

I have been very frustrated at my job but I will say their commitment to protecting Trans kids is one of the reasons why I really want to make my job WORK. I truly like working for an organization whose beliefs line up with my own, especially given *gestures wildly around*

I am 45 years old, I have lived under 7 presidents, I have never seen such an immediate and impactful effect of the acts of the president on my day to day life as I am seeing right now. This is probably something the shit eating gibbon in the Whitehouse thinks is a good thing. Trust me, it is not.

I have long felt Rogue One is the best Star Wars Movie, and in two seasons Andor somehow made it BETTER! Which is no small feat. That was some top notch Star Warsing there.

I have no opinion on papal politics... but that guy.. looks pretty much like a pope already. Like he is very popey-looking.

Andor is Star Wars meets GoT... and it has the best of both of them. Rogue One is hands down my favorite SW movie, and Andor is pretty quickly becoming my favorite SW show.

My hometown will be celebrating its 60th running of its annual canoe race tomorrow. I have finished the race 8 times. Tomorrow will be my 9th. The forecast is 3 inches of snow. Bring it on! the Bremner Boat will not be stopped!

One of the scariest things about the Tufts video is how normal they all look. I think in our minds we have this image of what jackbooted thugs look like and they just arent it. I sincerely hope history is EXTREMELY unkind to them.

I OF COURSE want the rule of law to win out. But some of Trumps policies are so doomed to fail I feel like the only way for his cultists to LEARN anything is to suffer from them. If the law starts actually applying and undoing his shit policies his cult will just say that is why they didn't work.

It's the day after st paddy's but given what I'm reading. It's definitely a "listen to the dropkick Murphys" type of morning.

I cant think of a video game which affected me more emotionally than KH 358/2 (in part due to things going on in my life at the time) in my replay of the series I was looking forward to 358/2 the most. ONLY to find out that the remaster collection skips 358/2. I am legitimately upset about this.

I have been thinking about how the slow burn of the "government=bad" mentality has developed in my lifetime. I was born 3 months into the first Reagan administration. At no point in my life was this belief ever really questioned around me, and now we are seeing the nadir of the result of that.

It has been 10 years, and I am struck with how perfect, and perfectly heartbreaking this announcement was executed. GNU Pterry.
