Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of praise for Omar El Akkad's One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This. Truly one of the most powerful books I've ever read and will surely be an essential text of this horrible time in history.

I feel I was not sufficiently informed of just how bonkers this movie is; Blood-soaked slapsticky good times! Great fight choreography for tight spaces. Dig it.

Say what you will of the man, but he had range and a depth of emotion that filled the screen and made us better understand what it is to be human.

I just finished American Sirens, one of the best nonfiction books I've read in a long time, found and chosen entirely on the mention of Freedom House in the HBO show, The Pitt. Their story is extraordinary. I honestly can't believe this isn't a series or film in it's own right, it's so compelling!

VPD sets up trucks and cops with assault rifles for Car Free and Italian day on the Drive every year. So if, after eating up all the city budget, VPD and the City balks on such a presence here… ? It’s one of laziness, poor planning, racism or a delightful stew of all three.
