Indeed, modular is not for everyone- for lots of reasons

The thing I love about that combo is it gives so many sequencing options- XoX, Euclidean, etc. along with lots of modulation for texture

My go-to these days is a BitBox Micro with an Acid Rain Constellation and a couple other modular sequencers

Not perfect, but works with my brain and has the flexibility and quirkiness I need

I was better at chaining together a lot of small wins instead of going for the big one that I had failed at so many times before

I actually still have it and quit over a decade ago

What helped me finally quit was actually keeping a cigarette with me at the ready and telling myself “I don’t need to quit forever… just wait 10 minutes before lighting it”

Then waiting another 10 minutes, and so on

It’s weird, but something about that seemed smaller and easier - and it worked
