TY for saying this truth! He has a common pundit class disease. An arrogant allegiance to process-ism -if we want to ism- vs to any human ethics. If certain conditions created a vocal mob w a taste for drawing & quartering (we're nearly there) he might shrug & say it's what the people want.

Much as I've been enraged & distraught for 10yrs abt the direction/choices of the NYT & hold the institution at least part responsible for degradation of U.S. (some of this latest did the NYT no favors)I hate the kind of dogpiling & binaries & ad hominems that flew yr way. Sm has rotted our brains.

Thats a dumb gotcha,agree.But the NYT, conspiracy or not, has done so much harm & failed the public & many fans.There are still journalists who do good but there are also many who caused untold damage w their favorite pastime: hot takes. some ethical compass & good sense is missing at the top.

I seriously believe w/out their help we might not have DT 1 or 2 & all the evil that goes w it.
theres the deplorables & ill informed where it doesn’t matter. But there‘s tons of people & other outlets influenced either directly or indirectly by what the paper of record puts out into the ether.
