As a Peds MD in UC/ER for 25yrs, if they cut Medicaid…
kids will still get sick. Children’s Hospitals will cut staff&services/cease to exist. Sans Medicaid, they won’t be seen by PCPs or UCs. ERs will be flooded (EMTALA requires they be seen). System will crater. Kids will suffer. Call your Rep!!

Called them all today. My deep red Senators and Representative all denied any knowledge of possible Medicaid cuts. Had to direct them to their own budget proposal. This will be a complete trainwreck.
Trump drew the line at Social Security cuts in Republicans' proposed budget, but Medicaid is on the chopping block
Medicaid may be on the chopping block as the Trump administration prepares its budget blueprint.

This asshat is prattling on about Medicaid copays and deductibles being ‘too high.’ He’s totally confusing Medicaid with the ACA. He has no idea what in the fuck he’s talking about… He doesn’t understand the first thing about Medicare, Medicaid or how our systems function.

Measles is much more contagious(R0 12-18: potential spread per case) w/ case fatality rate of 0.1%
Measles deaths have got nothin’ on Haemophilus influenza type b.
Hib spread is less (R0 3.3) but case fatality? At least 3-6%. Mostly under 18mos. Rapidly progresses.
That’ll be a lot of dead babies.
