Also, an absolute delight to spend time with the Japanese Digital Agency - who have been generous with their time and deeply engaging to talk to.
A double joy to have former students among them doing amazing work!
Very interesting work happening here.

Busy day. Real privilege to talk to the Deputy Ministers on strategies around digital transformation from governments around the world and where Canada fits in.

Indeed, really enjoyed this piece in the NYTimes today. With this great line about what Trump does well. He does see problems people feel. But woof on ideas about what to do about it. Double woof on execution.

Busy week.
Still Thursday.
But nice to spend a few hours back in Oxford for a side event at the Skoll Summit on Strategic Plays for Philanthropy to Scale Impact.
Thank you to the Avnish and Julia at Instiglio for the invite.

City has changed and not changed at the same time.

The diversity of delivery vehicle types in London is awesome. DHL delivering a package outside my office on cargo e-bike.

Whoa. Very solid brownies in the United Lounge. Cookies… too flat.
Am not confessing how many of may or may not have eaten.

These people. Good people.

Nice to be in Ottawa talking digital with government officials here.

This is a nice chart. I often like to share it in my policy and making decision class.
It would be nice for @economist.com to credit @aukehoekstra.bsky.social who created the first version of this starting at least in 2017...

One of the many joys of being on the UK Government’s expert panel on digital government is meeting co-chair Martha Lane Fox in person! Revolution Not Evolution has been an assigned reading for students for years.

Me: hey, isn’t that tower leaning over?
My friend Matteo: yeah, but unlike Pisa we don’t make a big deal out of it cause Venice has got so much other stuff.
Me: 😂

I can confirm that Venice is as charming as you’ve been told.

Great week here in DC for the annual meetings. Big thanks to Gerardo Una for helping us organize our DPI and finance ministries event. And Priya Vora for hosting the economics of DPI event this evening!

Great time in Brasilia at the G20 Troika event with South Africa, India & Brazil. Lots of sharing around how each is tackling tech and digital public infrastructure in their G20 presidency.

Always precious to create a space where civil society and govs talk candidly.

Next up: DPI Summit in Cairo.

If you’d told me in 2015 I’d make ~10 trips to Brasilia over the coming decade I’d have not believed you.
But it’s again great to back and engaged with friends and colleagues trying to reimagine and build a digital era government.
Side note, it is DRY here this week. Less than 14% humidity!
