Conversations with small child I never expected to have:

Mum, I think I did tiny poos in my bath. Or maybe it's chocolate cake.

Taking Woodside to court was a huge risk for a small not-for-profit like ours, but we knew we had to try.

Unfortunately, Australia’s environmental laws are not fit for purpose, and we lost the case. We now have to pay 80k in legal costs.

I don't really get why The Veronicas got in, but admittedly I do now have them stuck in my head... might have something to do with it #hottest100

No surprised, but sad to see no Alex the Astronaut, Sarah Blasko, Stella Donnelly, Kate Miller-Heidke, Angie McMahon, Meg Mac, Little Birdy, The Grates, Something for Kate, and the list goes on and on and on.

Lots of stuff I liked but lots kinda boring and not actually very #triplej.

Fun #hottest100 song, how fast can I name the song after it starts.
Got Heart's a Mess in 3 notes.

So far:

#91 No Aphrodisiac
#74 London Still

So many great songs played that I nearly voted for. Spiderbait, Killing Heidi, Silverchair, Powderfinger, Cat Empire,... so much fun listening.

Have now officially reached the age where everything my kid says causes me to sing associated song lyrics.

I have become my father.

Flu & Covid shots today.
Took our 4yo along to "help us be brave" 😆, pharmacist commended us on doing that to demonstrate to him how easy and normal vaccinations are.
I have a slightly sore arm and am a bit weary, which tbh is normal after hanging out with a preschooler all day anyway.

Booked myself in for COVID and Flu shots this week. 🎉
It's been ages since my last COVID shot, as I keep catching it just before I'm eligible again. The joy of having small children bring home everything go around (and them being too young to be able to be vaccinated yet).

I really enjoyed my #wokewines last night but oh boy I am feeling it today.
Looking forward to savouring the rest of the bottles with glee over the coming weeks and months. #auspol

I find RW commentary that "the voters are to blame" for the Coalition's loss absolutely delicious.
That's the entire fucking point of democracy, you idiots.

My 4 year old thinks strawberries come in 'planets'.

Maybe if they did I could keep up with his consumption of them.

I'm hitting refresh on the count in Bean. Fascinating, of all the Independent races, I did not see this one as a possibility. Labor puts quality candidates into Fenner and Canberra, but Bean is the poor cousin. Just because it's a 'safe seat' doesn't mean diddly squat anymore.

Whilst the Greens result is disappointing, the coverage claiming it is a disaster is misleading. Firstly, the national primary vote has barely shifted, so their support hasn't collapsed. The Greens fate in the House of Reps is always very much determined by complex preference flows (1/x) #auspol

I watched election night with friends from the US, Pakistan and the Philippines- a great way to highlight to oneself the strengths of the Australian electoral system, the value of the AEC, and the respect everyone has for both, even if they don't like the outcome #auspol

Joy is re-hiding the same Easter eggs over and over for a small child, for whom it's still about the finding, not the consuming.

Get the RSV vaccine!

It was not available yet in my child's first year. RSV remains the only reason we've taken him to hospital in 4 years. I will never forget syringing fluids into his mouth while he screamed at me for a fortnight, and him losing 500g that he could scarcely afford.

Vaccines work!
