According to DfT data published in 2025, in 30mph areas, 47% of cars, 45% of vans, 57% of motorcycles and particularly worryingly 34% artic lorries all break the speed limit. I suspect that the people complaining about 20mph limits dont adhere to any of the posted limits.

How are these larger SUV's getting favourable NCAP ratings when their size, weight, braking distance, front end design are minimising children pedestrians limited chance of survival if hit? Surely they should be getting a 1 star at best?
