i hate “ai” as the popular term because it’s marketing and it’s reductive. it’s just machine learning. we’ve had these tools for decades, the only difference is the amount of compute we throw at them now. fuck the AI slop factory but medicine is a good use for this tech if used well.

it won’t cure cancer but machine learning models built for medicine (and not to be a shitty chatbot) are actually huge. they allow enormous amounts of data to be analyzed in a way that would take so much longer for humans to do it, potentially finding trends that we wouldn’t see otherwise.
